This Plains Village site is situated on the floodplain of Otter Creek less than 0.5 miles west of the Missouri River Valley. It might be affiliated with nearby sites 32MO40 and 32MO41. Soil samples from unit fill and a probable hearth at CA-SDI-12,770 for the 4S Ranch Project in southern California were examined for pollen remains. These two samples also served as soil controls for a biface and an Elko projectile point examined for possible protein residues. This site represents a temporary campsite with a surface lithic scatter and a subsurface cultural deposit containing three features and numerous artifacts.

These two samples will serve as indicators as to the value of future analyses for samples collected from hearth fill.
