PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS OF A METATE FROM THE SPRING CANYON PROJECT, SITE CA-SDI-16,397 (2004)
The Spring Canyon Site (CA-SDI-16,397) is located in southern San Diego County adjacent to the United States/Mexico border. POLLEN ANALYSIS AT KAY'S CABIN, SITE 42UT813, UTAH (2004)
Site 42UT813 represents a late Fremont occupation in central Utah. A single pollen sample from the floor of Structure 2 (Feature 55), a deep pit structure that burned, was examined previously (Puseman and Cummings 2001). A metate from this same structure floor at Kay's Cabin (site 42UT813) in Utah Valley was analyzed for pollen to identify plants that might have been ground using this tool.

POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS FOR THE CORAL CANYON II PROJECT, SITES 42WS1220, 42WS1221, 42WS1222, AND 42WS3636, UTAH (2003)
Samples from four sites in the Coral Canyon II archaeological project in southwest Utah were examined for pollen and/or macrofloral remains. These sites represent Middle Archaic Late Archaic, and Southern Paiute occupations of the area. Pollen and macrofloral analyses are used to provide subsistence information concerning plant resources available to, and possibly processed by, the various occupants of the sites.

The Medicine Lodge Creek site is located on the eastern margin of the Bighorn Basin in north central Wyoming. A metate from the Crow horizon at the site was recovered during backhoe trenching and submitted for pollen and phytolith analysis to identify plants that might have been processed.
