Investigations at the Cedar Gap site ( 48NA83) resulted in the identification of a buried bison bone bed, buried bison bone processing areas, stone circles and stone cairns, and an extensive scatter of chipped stone artifacts along with pottery fragments. A Besant/Woodland component is present which includes the bone bed and processing areas. A Late Prehistoric to Protohistoric component is also present in at least one stone circle. A reconnaissance level survey of Scott Air Force Base was made on June 18, 1986 by J.J. Hoffman from the National Park Service and Dan C. Schloesser and Wayne Siefert from Scott Air Force Base. The focus of the survey was on lands suspected of containing archaeological remains and on lands suspected of having historic or architectural significance.

Report and SHPO correspondence regarding the 49th Civil Engineer Squadron, Engineering Flight (49 CES/CEC) proposal to replace the roof shingles on Buildings 1236 and 1237. The asbestos tile shingles need to be replaced because they are becoming unstable and falling off, causing potential health hazards and leaving large holes in the roof.

A soapstone pipe fragment was found at 48SW14906, an NRHP-eligible prehistoric site near the Eden Reservoir in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, by archaeologists working for Kail Consulting. Prehistoric chipped stone bifaces, metaquartzite and chert debitage, and five fire-cracked rock scatters were also found at 48SW14906.
