Boles Wells Cultural Resource Survey Holloman Air Force Base, Otero County, New Mexico (1994)
Survey was conducted in a 100-m transect around the Boles Wells boundary fence (approximately 75 acres) and 595 acres in the north half of the well field for a total of 271 ha (670 acres). The survey documented 13 previously unrecorded prehistoric sites and 2 historic sites. More information on a previously recorded prehistoric site was added to existing documentation. A total of 7,284 acres was included in this inventory, including HAFB properties on the North Area, and Tularosa Peak on the Main Base, and Boles Wells Water System Annex. A total of 34 previously unrecorded archaeological sites was documented. Twenty-five of the newly discovered properties are attributable to prehistoric activities.
