Summary

Survey was conducted in a 100-m transect around the Boles Wells boundary fence (approximately 75 acres) and 595 acres in the north half of the well field for a total of 271 ha (670 acres). The survey documented 13 previously unrecorded prehistoric sites and 2 historic sites. More information on a previously recorded prehistoric site was added to existing documentation. Ninety-two isolated occurrences also were recorded. Fifteen of the sites are potentially eligible to the National Register under Criterion D, their potential to answer specific research questions. This report describes the cultural resources in their environmental context and provides evaluations of their significance and recommendations for management.
