Platform Mound (Site Type Keyword)

Parent: Domestic Structures

A relatively high (over 1 meter), flat-topped mound, frequently constructed in several stages on which one or more structures were placed. Platform mounds are constructed using soil, shell, or refuse. They may incorporate earlier, filled-in structures in their substructure.
