Pipeline Site Arizona Site Steward File (1998)
This is an Arizona Site Steward file for the Pipeline Site, located on Bureau of Land Management land. The site is comprised of lithic and sherd scatter, five rock features which may be hearths, and a trail segment. POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT SITE 5LA6493, COMANCHE NATIONAL GRASSLANDS, COLORADO (2005)
Five pollen and three macrofloral samples were examined from site 5LA6493 in the Comanche National Grasslands of southeastern Colorado. This site consists of a room block with eight rooms. Charcoal from this site yielded a conventional radiocarbon age of 990 ± 40 BP. Soil samples from a hearth and a circular pit, as well as one metate fragment and one mano, were recovered from Room 2. This set of images documents common ceramics types found at La Venta, Tabasco. The examples here were recovered from San Andrés (Barí 1), a subsidiary elite community in the Lower La Venta area of the flood plain. SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) conducted limited archaeological data recovery at site AZ AA:11:80 (ASM) within the Ironwood Forest National Monument between March 15 and March 18, 2004. The purpose of the work was to mitigate potential adverse effects to the site prior to proposed power line improvements in the area by Trico Electric Cooperative (Trico). Phase II data recovery was conducted at AZ AA:7:500 (ASM) and AZ AA:12:682 (ASM) on the Villages of Tortolita property after Phase I data recovery revealed the presence of subsurface cultural deposits. Forty-five features were identified during Phase II data recovery at AZ AA:7:500 (ASM), including pit structures, roasting pits, miscellaneous extramural pits, middens, surface rock concentrations, and cremations.
