This collection is referred to as "Brookville Lake, Indiana N.D.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is a tenth of a linear inch.

The associated documentation for Brookville Lake, Indiana N.D. was stored in one acidic folder and in one acidic cardboard box with other document collections. The archivist found it difficult to assign the document to a specific archaeological project because the pamphlet was not dated. There was no removal of photographs materials from this collection. The pamphlet is oversized; therefore, it was flattened and stored as an oversized material. The Brookville pamphlet was the only document present at the time of archival processing related to the Brookville Lake artifact collection. There is no report for the Brookville Lake collection. Because there is no report, there is no information on how the artifacts were collected, who collected them, why they were collected, and when they were collected. The pamphlet seems to be used as an informative guide on the Brookville Lake and surroundings, but nothing inside the pamphlet explains why artifacts were collected from the Brookville Lake.

The processing archivist performed some online research of the archaeological investigations at Brookville Lake to determine if the Veterans’ Curation Project staff members could find out more about the artifacts and document collections being rehabilitated at their facility. While doing so, they found important information that would help with the contribution of completing the Brookville Lake Indiana finding aid. The information obtained while searching the internet related to the various U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects performed around Brookville Lake and the surrounding area that occurred during the 1960s that may have resulted in the artifact collection being processed by the Veterans’ Curation Project.

An additional record series, Catalog Records, was created to house the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology (GBL) artifact catalog for this investigation. These two files were sent to the VCP electronically, printed on acid free paper, and housed with the associated documentation. Scanned asset numbers were not assigned, because the files were uploaded into the digital imaging database directly from the file sent by GBL.

The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include the artifact report, artifact database, finding aid, and scanned asset key.
