EMAP Lizard Terrace Pueblo (LA37726) - Unit 1, 1994

Summary

This report summarizes the excavation and findings at the site LA37726, Unit 1, conducted during the summer field season, June 19 - August 9. The site is located in the eastern foothills of the Black Range Mountains of Sierra County, southwestern New Mexico. Site LA37726 is situated on a first terrace above the Palomas Creek. Unit 1 shares its site designation number with a roomblock to its north (Unit 10). Site LA37727 is located up slope on the second terrace. Though the sites on the terraces do not share the same Laboratory of Anthropology ID Number, they do represent one contemporary site occupation.
