EMAP Lizard Terrace Pueblo (LA37726) - Unit 19, 1995

Summary

This report summarizes the excavation results and analysis of Unit 19, a pueblo room located on a terrace of the Palomas drainage. During the summer of 1995, pueblo rooms located on this terrace, anther terrace along the Palomas drainage, and one terrace along the Animas drainage, were excavated by graduate and undergraduate students from the State University of New York at Buffalo, New Mexico State University, University of Virginia, Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and Stanford University. The project was directed by Dr. Margaret Nelson and Dr. Michelle Hegmon, both from Arizona State University. All sites are found within the boundaries of the Ladder Ranch, southwest of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. The research is supported by grants from the Turner Foundation and the National Geographic Society.
