EMAP Lizard Terrace Pueblo (LA 37727) - Unit 31, 1994

Summary

The 1994 field season was conducted from the end of June through mid August (excavation dates; 6/20/94 through 7/28/94) at three sites on the Ladder Ranch in Caballo, New Mexico; LA 37726 and LA 37727 (multi-terraced Anderson Ranch site), LA 37728, and LA 3949 (Las Animas). The season, funded by the Turner Foundation and the National Geographic Society, was directed by Dr. Margaret Nelson (SUNY Buffalo) and Dr. Michelle Hegmon (NMSU). Excavation was continued at LA 3949, the Las Animas site, and was begun at LA 37726 and LA 37727, the Anderson Ranch site, as well as LA 37728. Site maps were made for the three new sites. This unit summary will document the excavation of a single pueblo room, unit 31, from the upper terrace room blocks on LA 37727. The excavation of LA 37726 and LA 37727 was under the direct field supervision of Sandy Norvell (SUNY Buffalo).
