EMAP Lizard Terrace Pueblo (LA37727) - Unit 32, 1995

Summary

This report serves as a summary of the excavation of Unit 32, on the upper tier of Las Palomas (Site LA37727). The excavation was conducted from June 24 to August 11, during the 1995 field season, at the Ladder Ranch, Caballo, New Mexico. The excavations conducted at Las Palomas are part of the Eastern Mimbres Archaeological Project (EMAP), under the direction of Dr. Margaret Nelson of the state university of New York at Buffalo (UB) and Dr. Michelle Hegmon of New Mexico state University undergraduate and graduate students from the state University of New York at Buffalo and New Mexico State University participated in the EMAP excavations. Las Palomas site excavations were overseen by Site Director Severn R. Thomas. Unit 32 was opened and excavations were begun under the guidance of J. Alex Trayford CUB). The continued excavation, as of July 9, was led by Karli E. Jacobson CUB). Along with the assistance of other individuals, primary excavators of unit 32 were Jason Fowler, Stephanie Leseur, and Carl A. Lewandowski.
