Summary
A single sample was examined for pollen and phytoliths from 41CW54 to identify whether
or not pollen and phytoliths were preserved and could be recovered. The sample was removed
from the south bank of a drainage feature resembling a slough. A radiocarbon age of 9160 +/- 40 BP is associated with this sample. A charcoal sample found in association with a burned rock
feature also was submitted for identification prior to AMS radiocarbon dating. This charcoal is
believed to represent an age of 8500 to 9500 BP.
