Cultural Resources Survey of Improvements to the Georgetown County Airport Tract
Summary
"From 19 September-5 October 2005, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of approximately 426 acres proposed for development at the Georgetown County Airport Tract in Georgetown County, South Carolina. This survey was conducted for Talbert & Bright, Inc., of Columbia, South Carolina. We investigated this tract for the presence of historic properties (sites, buildings, objects, or districts listed on or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places [NRHP]) that may be affected by the undertaking.
We identified three archaeological resources (sites 38GE575-38GE577) and three architectural resources (resources 0949-0951) during the survey. We recommend sites 38GE575-38GE577 and architectural resources 0949-0951 not eligible for the NRHP. No further management consideration of these resources is warranted. Further management consideration of the Georgetown County Airport Tract with respect to cultural resources is not warranted. Proposed land disturbing activities in the Georgetown County Airport Tract will not affect any historic properties."
