Author(s): Peter Kováčik; Linda Scott Cummings; Cody Dalpra
Year: 2014
Summary
CA-SDI-7074 is located approximately three miles west of the town of Jacumba, California, near the border with Mexico. Previous analyses examined fill samples collected from 14 features representing fill from burnt floor surfaces, hearths, feature remnants, thermal features, and indeterminate features. Analysis of the fill from these features included pollen and starch analysis, as well as charcoal identification. Additional feature fill samples from 10 new features were submitted in January 2014 for pollen, macrofloral, and organic residue (FTIR) analysis to expand our understanding of the plant and animal resources utilized by the site occupants.
