Fort Sam Houston Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan and Environmental Assessment

Summary

This Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) follows the requirements for the preparation of an ICRMP as defined in AR-2004 using the guidance found in DA PAM 200-4. This ICRMP serves as a guide, with the Historic Properties Component for the implementation of the Army Alternative Procedures for National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 Compliance activities at Fort Sam Houston. This text is designed to serve as a five-year plan for the integrated management of the historic properties contained within the limits of Fort Sam Houston Military Reservation, Bexar County, Texas, for fiscal years 2007-2012.

The plan contains: an introduction, planning level survey, review of past cultural resources studies and their findings, an economic analysis section, public involvement plan, and ICRMP goals and recommendations. Also provided are appendices containing a glossary, brief overview of laws and regulations, detailed overviews of the cultural and physical environment, cultural resources inventory, list of Native American contacts, programmatic agreements, and Finding of No Significant Impact for the implementation of this ICRMP. The intended audience of this document is the Installation Commander, FSH personnel involved in planning activities, the FSH Cultural Resources Manager who is the individual responsible for the day-to-day management of cultural resources.
