Summary

Historic American Building Survey for Building 4226, Inflammable Storage.

Building 4226 is a utilitarian-styled, one-story, load-bearing masonry structure built on a raised concrete foundation. The foundation consists of drilled piers with spread footings that support a continuous grade beam and floor slab. The walls are of stuccoed, hollow clay tile. Concrete columns, located above the drilled piers, support the slightly pitched concrete roof structure. The low, gabled roof is clad with a multiple-ply, built-up, asphaltic roof. Large metal ventilators are located at the ridge of the roof. Windows are metal combination units with inset awning sash. Window lights are divided into small panels for security. A single overhead door is located at the front of the building and opens onto a raised concrete loading dock.
