Summary
SWCA, Inc., Environmental Consultants conducted a Class III archaeological survey of a 160-acre parcel of privately owned land south of New River. Three sites, AZ T:4:252 (ASM), AZ T:4:253 (ASM), and AZ T:4:254 (ASM), were discovered within the project area. Sites AZ T:4:242 (ASM) and AZ T:4:254 (ASM) were determined by the Arizona State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) to be ineligible to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (Bilsbarrow 2000a). This document therefore summarizes the results of archaeological treatment activities at Site AZ T:4:253 (ASM), which had been determined to be potentially eligible to the NRHP. The histone property treatment plan was prepared by SWCA (Potter 1999) and reviewed and approved by SHPO (Bilsbarrow 2000b). Site mitigation was completed on August 23 and 24, 2000, by Joseph Garrotto and Lynn Neal of SWCA's Flagstaff office.
