Entries such as these make up the bulk of the Stockholm Naval account books for the years 1625 and 26. Naval-yard’s administrative systems. This was a period of high–intensity naval activity for the State, as well as the developmental stage for the flagship Vasa, a development estimated at a significant portion of the Swedish State’s expenses. The scope and variety of the payments gives a good idea of the extent (and inconsistencies) that the Swedish state conducted its business in, and raises many implications about the scope of the work and those performing it.
