Summary
This report presents the results of archaeological testing at McKinley Street in Phoenix. The project area includes an approximately 7000 square foot residential lot. This project was conducted at the request of the City of Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department under an on-call archaeological services contract between the City and SWCA, Inc. (Contract no. 101005) and was assigned project number PGM 2003-38 by the City of Phoenix Archaeology Section.
Due to the possible presence of a prehistoric canal recorded in the project area, excavation of a single test trench was conducted in a vacant lot. In addition, the prehistoric sites of Pueblo Patricio and La Ciudad are located within a half-mile mile of the project area. The canal was not located during testing, nor were any other cultural resources located. No archaeological resources will be affected by future construction activities and no further archaeological work is recommended.
