Summary

This document presents the results of phase I data recovery at a portion of AZ T:12:10 (ASM), hereafter referred to as Las Colinas, that is located in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. The work was conducted by Carter & Burgess (C&B) at the request of the City of Phoenix (COP) Archaeologist as Pueblo Grand Museum (PGM) Project No. PGM 2004-17 under an existing on-call archaeological services agreement (Contract No. 110324). The COP Cost Center number for this project is 8860150021. The project is sponsored by the COP Neighborhood Services Department, and was undertaken to determine the nature and extent of any cultural resources within the proposed location of a modular building, a sidewalk, and associated utilities. For purposes of this investigation, the term "cultural resources" refers to prehistoric or historic archaeological sites or objects and potentially significant historic buildings or structures.

Phase I data recovery was conducted on September 6 and 7, 2005. Michael Stubing served as the Project Director, and Laurene Montero served as the Project Manager/Principal investigator. Crew for the project included Korri Turner and Sarah Grumbley. No prehistoric or historic features or artifacts were found as a result of the phase I data recovery. A proposed phase I data recovery trench in the location of a future utility line installation could not be excavated due to the presence of an existing electrical line. This trench will be excavated for utility installation purposes at a later date. It is recommended that this utility line excavation be monitored to determine if cultural resources are present.
