Third Addendum to A Cultural Resource Survey for State Route 303L (Loop 303), Maricopa County, Arizona

Author(s): John S. Langan; Courtney C. Rehar

Year: 2007

Summary

Using state funds, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will be constructing State Route 303L (SR 303L), in Peoria, Maricopa County. During design of this highway, it was determined that two additional right-of-way (R/W) parcels and three temporary construction easements (TCEs) are necessary for the construction of bridge features integral to the road and the expansion of a drainage basin. One of these parcels was surveyed as part of a separate undertaking; AZTEC surveyed the previously unsurveyed parcels.

This report, an addendum to the Strohmayer and Lundin (2007) study, addresses the newly surveyed parcels. While this project was conducted as part of the overall cultural resources consultation for SR 303L design, this report deals only with the recently identified R/W and TCE needs. Strohmayer and Lundin (2007) provided an extensive review of the previous research and culture history for the SR 303L project area. In the following sections, this report summarizes information about previous studies that covered new R/W parcels and TCEs only. The reader should turn to the Strohmayer and Lundin 2007 report for a more thorough discussion.
