Summary
This report presents the results of an inventory and evaluation of buildings and structures at King Salmon Airport, Alaska. During the Cold War (1946-1989), King Salmon Air Force Station (AFS) supported the air intercept defense mission of the Alaskan Air Command (AAC). Seventy-one buildings and structures at King Salmon Airport were inventoried and evaluated for potential inclusion in the National Register. The 611th Air Support Group has determined that the forward operating bases in Alaska are eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places
