Cultural Resources Inventory for Use of the Red Cliff Mesa Top, Sierra County, New Mexico

Summary

During the spring of 1997, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' archaeologists conducted a cultural resources inventory of approximately 0.4 hectares (0.9 acres) near Elephant Butte Reservoir in Sierra County, New Mexico. The survey was conducted in support of baseline requirements for cultural resources management on Federally owned land utilized by the U.S. Air Force. The Corps found no cultural resource manifestations in the survey area. The Corps is of the opinion that the utilization of the area will have no effect on cultural or historic resources of the region.
