Summary

Phase I archaeological survey within 5,303 acres; 11 new sites documented: 6 prehistoric and 5 historical. All of the prehistoric sites represent the Late Archaic through Late Woodland periods. Five prehistoric sites (BU28953, 28BU956, 28BU957, 28BU958, 28BU961) were recommended eligible for inclusion in the NRHP. A single prehistoric site, 28BU954, was recommended not eligible. None of the newly recorded historical sites (28BU955, 28BU959, 28BU960, 28BU962, and 28BU963) were recommended eligible for inclusion in the NRHP. Phase II NRHP eligibility evaluation of 11 archaeological sites. Of these, 4 of 5 prehistoric sites (or the prehistoric components of the sites) evaluated were recommended eligible (28BU250, 28U527, 28BU533, and 28BU538). None of the eight historical sites were recommended eligible for inclusion in the NRHP.
