Reconstructing the Bow of the Emanuel Point Ship
Author(s): Joseph Cozzi
Year: 2023
Summary
This is an abstract from the session entitled "Paper / Report Submission (General Sessions)", at the 2023 annual meeting of the Society for Historical Archaeology.
The reconstruction of the bow of the Emanuel Point Ship (EP1) is undertaken in an attempt to establish the vessel's length of keel. This is a crucial step in determining the vessel's size, which may help to identify which of the vessel's lost during Tristan de Luna's 1559 expedition is represented by the remains of Emanuel Point 1.
