Archaeological Investigations of 14 Sites at Holloman Air Force Base New Mexico

Part of the Holloman Air Force Base Resources project

Year: 2002

Summary

During the spring of 2000, archaeologists with Lone Mountain Archaeological Services, Inc., conducted testing and salvage excavations at 14 archaeological sites administered by Holloman Air Force Base through a contract with Fort Bliss. Investigations in the well field demonstrated that many of the sites there have been reduced by erosion. Most of the artifact assemblages have been exposed and in many cases, displaced by water action.
