Summary
This is an abstract from the "Michoacán and West Mexico: New Research in Interaction, Exchange, and Mobility" session, at the 90th annual meeting of the Society for American Archaeology.
This presentation aims to address the development and changes of interactions and the exchange networks that Tingambato maintained with the lake region of Michoacán and Tierra Caliente from 0 to 700 AD, as reflected in the ceramics. The study applied ceramic typological analysis and spatial distribution maps, accompanied by technological study of ceramic production (by “chaine operatoire”) and petrographic analysis in thin sections to identify the probable sources of raw materials.
