River Basin Surveys Papers, No. 2: Prehistory and the Missouri Valley Development Program, Summary Report on the Missouri River Basin Archaeological Survey in 1949.

Author(s): Waldo R. Wedel

Year: 1953

Summary

Continuing its studies of the archeological and paleontological materials that will be adversely affected by the expanding Federal watercontrol program in the Missouri River watershed, the Missouri River Basin Survey carried on its field and laboratory activities throughout calendar year 1949. For various reasons the year was an unusually trying one, even frustrating in some respects; but within the limit of available funds and in the face of a rapidly changing personnel picture, a measure of progress nevertheless can be recorded.
