The results of these preliminary studies indicate that arroyos in this region were quite dynamic in the Holocene and that this activity resulted in a significant archaeological visibility bias. The Center for Anthropological Studies has just completed an intensive archaeological survey or field examination of a 207 acre portion of Kirtland Air Force Base. Twenty loci of isolated artifacts and five historic sites were located.
