Panamerican Consultants, Inc., under a cooperative agreement with the United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, Fort Detrick, Maryland, conducted Phase II archaeological testing of two locations at Fort Monroe, Hampton, Virginia. Personnel at Fort Monroe’s Environmental Office of the Directorate of Public Works and Logistics managed technical considerations for the project. Fort Monroe was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960 and listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and in the National Register of Historic Places (#66000912) in 1966.
