Part of: US Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District VCP

Ball State University conducted excavations at the Conner Mill Site (12G57) in 1983. Excavation was conducted as a field school run by B.K. Swartz, Jr. through Ball State University. The Conner Mill Site is located in Indiana near the Mississinewa Reservoir, which is at the junction of Grant, Miami, and Wabash Counties. The area under investigation has a chronology that ranges from Paleo-Indian (post-15,000 to 8,000 B.C.) through Late Woodland (A.D. 600 to 1650 [contact]) (Shrock 1927:128; Wepler 1982). The county symbol employed for this box is G, which references to Grant County, Indiana. The name of the investigation contains the date 1984 to keep it consistent with the project name for the archival records associated with these artifacts.

The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include the artifact database, artifact report, select artifact photographs, finding aid, and scanned asset key.
