Summary
Site 42Ws4283, situated in the St. George Basin of southwestern Utah, represents a
Southern Paiute occupation. A 2-sigma radiocarbon age of AD 1420-1650 is reported for this site.
Three pollen and one macrofloral samples were examined from a deflated hearth, a mano, and the
modern ground surface to describe vegetation in the vicinity at the time of occupation and also
identify plants processed in the hearth and with the mano.
