Summary
A single sample (14) was submitted for pollen, starch, and phytolith analysis from a pit
exposed at site NP7. This pit yielded a calibrated radiocarbon age of AD 29-390, indicating late
or transitional Pre-Latte Phase Marianas occupation. The pit is located at the edge of a wetland
in the Miyama Hills. Modem vegetation includes Pandanus and Heterospathe palms.
