Trail Survey of Specific Areas of Patagonia Lake State Park, Sonoita Creek State Natural Area, Santa Cruz County, Arizona
Author(s): Catherine B. Johnson
Year: 2003
Summary
Arizona State Parks proposes to add several hiking and equestrian trails in Patagonia Lake State Park that will also lead to the Sonoita Creek State Natural Area, in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. The land surveyed is partially owned by Arizona State Parks with other areas leased from the Arizona State Land Department. This report represents the results of a Class III cultural resources survey completed under ASM Blanket Permit #2001-22bl.
Included is a resurvey of a proposed trail segment that has now been moved. The originally planned trail would have impacted a site (AZ EE:9:182 ASM) that was newly located by Aztlan Archaeology, Inc. Because of the Aztlan survey, Arizona State Parks moved the proposed trail so there would be no impact to the site.
