Archaeological Investigations at Antelope House
Author(s): Don P. Morris
Year: 1986
Summary
Reported in this volume are excavations at Antelope House, Canyon de Chelly National Monument, Arizona. The project, under the direction of the senior author and financed by the National Park Service, spanned the field seasons of 1970 through 1973. Our report proceeds from a general discussion of our excavation goals and other background material to a detailed discussion of the architecture of the site and the internal site chronology derived from this study. Sections of the report dealing with environment, diet and material culture present the results of detailed studies of the excavated materials. The concluding section of the report summarizes and integrates these studies, presenting conclusions on the social organization of the site and state of the environment during its occupation, the two prime areas in which we concentrated our efforts.
Appendix A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, and photographs from the report are scanned from microfiche film and saved in a separate file.
