Roadmap Village (LA 45157) - Units 103, 107, and 108 Summary

Summary

Units 103, 107, and 108 are 1x2m excavation units located in sheet trash near the north end of the site of Roadmap Village. South of these units, the northern arm of the pueblo consists of eight or more unexcavated rooms. The focus of our excavations in 2007, 2008, and 2012 was on pueblo rooms in the main roomblock, south of the main plaza; we know little about the rooms in the other roomblocks. Units 103, 107, and 108 were excavated in order to gain some insights about the northern roomblock, particularly the ceramic types present in this area. Surface examination showed a fairly high density of sherds and lithics in this area which should have washed in primarily from the roomblock immediately to the south. The excavation of these units yielded a sample of artifacts for preliminary comparison with those recovered from the ten excavated rooms in the main roomblock.
