Summary

On August 30, 2003, archaeologists from SWCA Environmental Consultants completed an archaeological survey of an approximately 14-acre parcel located in Sahuarita, Arizona. The survey was done under contract with Park Corporation. Russell Waldron served as SWCA’s lead project manager, and India Hesse served as Project Archaeologist. This survey was conducted in order to comply with Section 106 (36 CFR part 800) of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended (Federal Register 1999) as required under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA).

The survey revealed the presence of two archaeological sites and one isolated occurrence of cultural materials. Archaeological testing is recommended for both archaeological sites if avoidance is not possible.
