Summary

The proposed Security Control Center (SCC) Component of the Peacekeeper Program will alter the west basement area of Building 152, an historic building located within the F.E. Warren Air Force Base (AFB) Historic District/National Landmark. The facility will be used for Central and Wing Security Control functions. The Air Force, in consultation with the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), has determined that there will be an adverse effect on the property that will result from security blocking of existing windows, replacement of an exterior door, installation of an antenna, and demolition of interior fabric. These effects will be minimized for the most part through the design process. No impacts to important archeological properties have been identified and, based on previous monitoring in the area, none are expected. In the unlikely event that such resources are located during construction, procedures will be followed as outlined in the Peace keeper Program Cultural Resources Management Plan and the Construction Management Plan.
