Summary

This report documents the results of a cultural resources inventory of the Buckley Air National Guard Base in Arapahoe County, Colorado. A total of 3,052 acres within the boundaries of the base were surveyed for cultural resources. The survey recorded 39 archaeological sites and 25 isolated finds. The sites include 32 sites with prehistoric components, 3 sites with prehistoric and historic components, and 4 historic properties. The prehistoric components are lithic scatters with inferred functions of lithic reduction/procurement and/or camping/food processing. The historic components include 1 farmstead and 6 localities related to military use of the area. Evaluative soil probing and/or shovel testing, and formal testing were conducted at 16 sites. All 39 sites are considered not eligible for nomination to the NRHP. No further work is recommended.
