The Texas Historical Commission sent this letter to Fort Sam Houston to inform them that the rail line trestle bridge that was being considered for removal was recently determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. As a result, the propose demolition of the structure will clearly have an "adverse effect" on the structure and its environment. This letter reiterates and stresses the importance of preserving Building 1198 which is a World War I era aviation hangar.
