POLLEN ANALYSIS FOR THE BURRO FLATS TRENCH SITE, CALIFORNIA (2005)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings. R.A. Varney. Jaime Dexter.

Five samples from an overlying peat and underlying silt and mud layers within the most recent surface rupture at the Burro Flats Trench Site northeast of the town of Banning in Southern California were submitted for pollen analysis. The analysis was performed in order to determine whether the rupture can be associated with the 1812 Wrightwood earthquake or the Coachella Valley earthquake, circa 1700.

POLLEN ANALYSIS OF ADOBE BLOCKS FROM PIO PICO ADOBE (CA-LAN-1179H), SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (2000)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings.

Pollen analysis of four adobe blocks from Pio Pico's El Ranchito was designed to place these adobe bricks in their proper historical perspective. Three of the adobe bricks were from areas of the site with known building episodes. The fourth brick was from an adobe that was part of a wall that was not securely dated. Pollen analysis was undertaken in an effort to compare the pollen records of these individual bricks and assign a date for the fourth date based on its similarity to one of the...

DOCUMENT Full-Text Kathryn Puseman. Linda Scott Cummings. Jaime Dexter.

Samples from midden deposits at prehistoric site CA-SDI-10,920, along the shoreline of Lake Hodges in southern California, were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. This site contains milling features, midden deposits, and numerous surface artifacts. The milling features yielded 64 milling elements including slicks, mortars, and cupules. Pollen and macrofloral analyses of the midden deposits will be used to provide information concerning plant resources available to and utilized by...

POLLEN AND PROTEIN RESIDUE ANALYSIS FOR SAMPLES FROM SITE CA-SDI-12,770, CALIFORNIA (2004)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings. Kathryn Puseman.

Soil samples from unit fill and a probable hearth at CA-SDI-12,770 for the 4S Ranch Project in southern California were examined for pollen remains. These two samples also served as soil controls for a biface and an Elko projectile point examined for possible protein residues. This site represents a temporary campsite with a surface lithic scatter and a subsurface cultural deposit containing three features and numerous artifacts.

POLLEN AND PROTEIN RESIDUE ANALYSIS FOR SEVERAL SITES IN THE OAK COUNTRY ESTATES, SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (2002)
