POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT MOANALUA, HAWAI'I (2001)
Stratigraphic pollen analysis of sediments from alluvial deposits at the mouth of Moanalua Valley was undertaken to provide information concerning past vegetation in this area. Radiocarbon ages indicate these sediments range in age from approximately AD 30-540 to AD 1300-1480. In addition, a single macrobotanical sample with visible remains was submitted for identification.

POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS AT REDLEG KIPUKA, MILITARY POHAKULOA TRAINING AREA, HAWAII ISLAND, SITE 50-10-31-5003 (1998)
Ten pollen and ten phytolith samples were examined from site 50-10-31-5003. Pollen samples were collected stratigraphically from layers in a lava tube to examine the prehistoric vegetation record. Phytolith samples were collected from individual pits created by breaking the tops of large bubbles in the lava and creating pits. It is possible that sweet potato was grown in the pits and that they were mulched.
POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM THE PALAWAI 9 PROJECT, LANAI ISLAND, MAUI COUNTY, HAWAII (2013)
