Fort Sam Houston has completed and sent to the Texas Historical Commission a revised environmental assessment and signed FONSI for the demolition of buildings on Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis. Due to stated concerns by the Texas Historical Commission, Fort Sam Houston has reduced the planned demolition from eight to six buildings. This decision, along with the information on the buildings is included in this letter of correspondence.

The Texas Historical Commission's review staff has completed its review of the proposed undertakings to demolish Buildings 376, 377, 4115, at Fort Sam Houston and 5101, 5102 and 5002 at Camp Bullis. The Commission concurs with Fort Sam Houston's determination that the demolitions would have an "adverse effect" on the buildings, which are contributing structures to potential National Register District at Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis.

Based on the information provided the Council has concluded that their participation in the consultation to resolve adverse effects is needed.
