Three manos were recovered with a human burial dating between 500 and 800 BP at the Picketwire site (5LA5838) in southeastern Colorado. These manos were washed to recover pollen to identify plants that were ground.

Eight pollen samples and a single botanic identification sample were examined from 48SW11483, the Alkali Creek Site, in Sweetwater County, Wyoming. The Alkali Creek Site is located on a low ridge overlooking the confluence of Alkali Creek and Salt Wells Creek at the foot of Pine Mountain between Flaming Gorge and Vermillion Basin. The floated light fractions from the fill of five basin hearth features at the Nomad site, 48SW9204, in southwest Wyoming were examined for macrofloral remains to provide information concerning plant resources that were utilized by the site occupants.
