Archaeological monitoring was conducted during subsurface construction activities associated with the relocation of a portion of the Utah Extension (AZ U:9:254 [ASM]) within the City of Mesa. Construction procedures consisted of excavating a trench approximately 0.2 miles (0.31 kilometers) long and four feet (1.22 meters) wide along an alleyway north of and downslope from the Utah Extension.
