Year: 1994
Summary
Archaeological Consulting Services, Ltd. (ACS) conducted a cultural resource survey of approximately 1000 acres located west of Tucson. The survey, requested by the Bureau of Reclamation, was undertaken to identify and assess the cultural resources that might be affected by the development of the Tucson Aqueduct System Reliability Investigations (TASRI) Reservoir. Two additional surveys have been completed in conjunction with the TASRI project, an 880-acre parcel directly south of the current project area (Troncone 1993, available at https://core.tdar.org/document/393900), and a 320-acre parcel located on the adjacent Pascua Yaqui Reservation (DeMaagd 1993, available at https://core.tdar.org/document/393899). Although 29 sites were identified by these previous surveys, only three sites (AZ AA:16:378, AA:16:379, and AA:16:380[ASM]) and 21 isolated finds were identified on this phase of the TASRI survey. The findings of a geomorphological study were employed to assess site integrity and eligibility (see appendix).
