Archaeological Survey of 7.4 Acres for the Proposed Pinkering Fence Line and Corral Project in Pinal County, Arizona

Author(s): David M. R. Barr

Year: 2015

Summary

Ed Pinkering is proposing to construct a corral and fence line in Pinal County, Arizona, to aid his cattle ranching activities. The proposed corral and fence line is located on Arizona State Land Department (ASLD)-administered lands. The proposed corral will be constructed using continuous iron pipe rails. SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) was contracted by Ed Pinkering to conduct an archaeological survey of the proposed corral and fence line to aid the ASLD in complying with the Arizona State Historic Preservation Act.

The survey of the project area resulted in the identification of two previously documented archaeological sites and five IOs. The two sites are Hohokam artifact scatters that have ceramic and flaked stone artifacts.
