Monitor Report - Sewer Line Replacement, Building 202, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming
Summary
On March 11, 1995, I monitored excavation of a sewer pipe west of Bldg 202 in FamCamp. A 6 inch tile sewer line was being replaced with a 6 inch pvc line. The trench was about four feet wide and four feet deep and 15 feet long (east to west). The trench profile showed the area had been filled in the past, as there were several layers of soils with construction debris in them. Debris consisted primarily of red brick, with a few pieces of burned wood. One section of brick wall with about 10 bricks was still cemented together. Another dozen bricks were visible in the sidewalls, or in the back dirt. The debris could have come from one of the brick buildings which have burned in the past. The trench is in the area once occupied by the boiler room of Building 202. The room was removed in the late 30s when the building was converted from a pumphouse to living quarters. The remains may represent the foundation or remnants of this structure.
No collections were done. The trench was backfilled after the pipe was replaced.
