Phase II NRHP Evaluation of Nine Archaeological Sites, JBMDL

Summary

This report presents the results of Phase II NRHP eligibility testing of nine archaeological sites at JB MDL. Fieldwork was conducted between March 15 and May 22, 2021, and between September 26 and October 14, 2022. The sites included one historical component, five with prehistoric components, and three with both historical and prehistoric components. Of these, five have site components that are recommended eligible for inclusion in the NRHP (28BU637, 28BU673, 28BU675, 28BU691, and 28BU1007) and four had limited artifact assemblages or lacked the necessary integrity to convey significance and were recommended not eligible (28BU522, 28BU638, 28BU639, and 28OC149/151). Two previously documented potential archaeological locations, UDS-18 and UDS-19 were also surveyed during this investigation and found to be recent military era excavations.
